I grew up listening to Coldplay and knew pretty well all their mainstream hits, like "A Sky Full of Stars", "Viva La Vida" and "Yellow". But it isn't until you actually go to a live performance and sit among tens of thousands of fans and feel the energy in the stadium and see the fireworks going off that you really see what they're all about. It's hard to describe, but it feels energizing, magical, and inspirational. You feel like you're a part of something bigger than the lyrics or the chords.
I was so glad that not only did the band play their new songs from A Head Full of Dreams, but also all the classic songs that established who they are, and what fans know them for. When "Fix You" started playing, I felt moved to tears. If they ever do a world tour again, you can bet I'll be there. In the meantime, I'll be playing "Everglow" on repeat.
Check out the Daily Bruin for a review of the show.
Chris Martin had quite the stage presence.
Special thanks to The Daily Bruin for bringing me probably the closest I'll ever get to Chris Martin.
