Portraits in an Orange Patch // Gilbert, AZ
Gilbert is such a lovely place during the winter. I've never been to an orange patch before, but it was so cool to see one in person. It's really quite magical. LA life is so fast-paced. There are no patches of land that sit empty and unused, no space to spare except for more parking garages that cost way too much money. LA will always be like that, and I guess I've gotten used to the hustle and bustle of city life. It definitely has perks of its own. But I'm more grateful that I can come home and see all this natural homegrown awesomeness.
My friend Demetrio and I went out to the Farm at Agritopia, a special part of the town I call home, which has awesome restaurants and coffee shops nearby. It's all part of this community, which actually does have a an 11 acre farm focused on sustainability. The temperatures were a little lower than we would have liked, but what's a little cold compared to the type of weather we get about two-thirds of the year? Thanks for being a dear friend, Demetrio, and for braving the cold with me.
